Advertisements Disguised as Comments

It's been a while since I've looked at this thing, much less written new content. I don't expect people to read what I write, so I'm always a little surprised to find comments. Lo and behold, I found five comments on my last posting! Excitement itself! (Though, truth be told, it's one of the more boring postings I've made, so the surprise was genuine.)

Funny how every single comment was basically an advertisement. Home loans, online casino, even one for cheap online pharmaceuticals. Of these only the last one had any bearing on what I've written. In case I haven't stated it elsewhere I'm not medicating for any condition I've got, and when I have it was covered by insurance. So even that one didn't apply. None of these even related to the post that was being commented on.

I have a favor to ask of the people who do read this blog: If you're posting a comment that is pertinent to what I've written, please feel free. If you're posting a comment to say you liked, disliked, agreed with, disagreed with, or can't understand what I wrote, fine. But if you're writing simply to advertise your service or product, post elsewhere. I will delete your comment.

If enough people ignore this simple request, I'll disable comments on everything I post.

Advertise somewhere else.
